What Every Woman Should Know About Her Health – But Probably Doesn’t

May 4th, 2011-Jenny Sucov, editor of popular online health destination Everyday Health, says innovations in women’s health are transforming the diagnosis and treatment of many conditions and diseases at a rapid pace.

In an effort to keep women up-to-date, informed and empowered, Everyday Health has teamed up with the U.S. Office of Women’s Health and daVinci Surgery to present “Women’sWorks – Tools For A Healthier You,” –  a free month long educational program taking place in hundreds of hospitals across the country.

To kick things off, Sucov shares some of the biggest breakthroughs and smaller, but no less important, developments in women’s health, fitness and nutrition.

Sucov, whose new book, Everyday Health: My Calorie Counter hits stores this month.  She discusses:

  • Heart disease:  The newest tests and the truth about women and aspirin! And how menstrual cycles may play a role in predicting heart disease.
  • Breast Cancer:  Promising screening techniques and drug therapies stir new optimism, plus how women are helping women have less painful recoveries from surgery.
  • New treatments for fibroids and other gynecological conditions. Surgeons say the recovery time is “remarkable.”
  • The latest on osteoporosis and osteoarthritis and tips every woman should know about their bones and joints.
  • Gestational diabetes: New ways doctors can identify women at risk, and new ways to prevent GD.
