Seniors, Baby Boomers and Military Families Urged to Call Their Senators TODAY
Satellite Interviews Available with AMA President J. James Rohack
Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2010 from 6:45 – 10:45 AM ET
Story posted: February 1, 2010
Background:
Unless the Senate acts, on March 1, 2010, seniors and military families will have reduced access to health care and choice of physician because of a steep Medicare physician payment cut of 21 percent. The U.S. Senate has less than three weeks left to act before the cut begins. Already, about one in four Medicare patients looking for a new primary care physician have trouble finding one – and this year’s cut will make the problem much worse.
Concerned patients can contact their senators through the AMA’s Patients Action Network at 1-888-434-6200 or online at www.patientsactionnetwork.org.
