ANNOUNCER:
WORLD ARTHRITIS DAY, OCTOBER 12, IS A GLOBAL INITIATIVE TO INCREASE AWARENESS OF ARTHRITIS AND TO CALL ON INDIVIDUALS AND POLICYMAKERS TO TAKE ACTION TO REDUCE THE BURDEN AROUND THE WORLD. CHRISTINE SCHWAB, A FORMER FASHION AND ENTERTAINMENT REPORTER, RECENTLY CAME FORWARD WITH HER STRUGGLE IN HER NEW BOOK, TAKE ME HOME FROM THE OSCARS. SHE’S JOINING WITH THE ARTHRITIS FOUNDATION AND THE ARTHRITIS COMMUNITY TO HELP BRING ATTENTION TO THE DISEASE.
CHRISTINE SCHWAB:
“Arthritis affects several hundred million people worldwide. In the United States, it’s the leading cause of disability. I am proud to partner with the Arthritis Foundation and the arthritis community around the globe to fight back to reduce the unacceptable pain, limitations and economic costs of arthritis. Movement is one of the many ways to fight arthritis. Even doing a small amount of activity like walking, swimming or joining a friend for tennis can help improve pain. This year on World Arthritis Day, move to improve. “
