BULLYING IS A SERIOUS AMERICAN EPIDEMIC AND THE EMOTIONAL AND ACADEMIC EFFECTS OF IT CAN IMPACT A CHILD FOR YEARS. NICOLE PFLEGER WAS NAMED SCHOOL COUNSELOR OF THE YEAR BY THE AMERICAN SCHOOL COUNSELOR ASSOCATION AND SHE’S HELPING TO COMBAT BULLYING.
NICOLE PFLEGER:
“Bullying is one of the toughest issues facing students today. Character education is the guiding force behind all that school counselors do as we work to create an environment where students are respectful, responsible and able to work cooperatively with others. At my school, I implemented ‘Rachel’s Challenge’ to create a culture of compassion through acts of kindness and service projects and this program is making a real difference in the lives of our students.”
