Home Improvement You Can Do In Three Days
May 11th, 2011- Memorial Day is just a few weeks away, and as the official start of summer knocks on the door, homeowners with a list of improvement to-dos will be planning for a weekend of sprucing up. This year, more than ever, homeowners are looking for ways to improve, rather than move. And millions will break out the tools, gadgets and supplies needed to get started over the long weekend.
Straight from the 2011 National Hardware Show in Las Vegas, home improvement experts Leslie Segrete and Tom Kraeutler, co-hosts of “The Money Pit” radio show, are full of inspiration. Tom says whether we’re planning on putting our houses on the market during the warmer weather or simply getting ready for some quality time in the backyard this summer, there are some essential tips and tricks that will make our homes sparkle.
Tom and Leslie guide us through some of their favorite long-weekend projects, inspired by the most interesting, useful and innovative finds at the nation’s largest new home products event, the 2011 National Hardware Show.

Leslie Segrete is co-host of The Money Pit. Leslie's home improvement skills span radio, television and print. Leslie is currently working on a brand new series for A&E called "$100 Makeover" which helps people sort through their clutter to find design treasures and with her team makes over four rooms in the house. From 2002 through 2007, Leslie Segrete was part of making design dreams reality as a carpenter and designer for TLC's hit series Trading Spaces and While You Were Out, Leslie designed, built and executed projects to please the participating families and millions of her fans every single week to this day. Leslie was also the lead designer on The Ugliest House on the Block, on the We Network. In the series Leslie designed dramatic exterior makeovers that benefited the whole community.
Tom Kraeutler is the host, founder and Chief Home Improvement Evangelist of The Money Pit. Tom is an accomplished speaker and appears regularly as a how-to guru on network and local television stations including CNN, MSNBC, The History Channel, HGTV and the DIY Network. He is a featured home improvement contributor for Oprah.com and the Home Improvement Editor for AOL and Wallet Pop. His work has been featured in House Beautiful, Smart Money, Reader's Digest and in hundreds of daily newspapers across the nation.
