JOY BEHAR’S ‘VIEW’ ON CAT ADOPTION
Talk Show Host Discusses the FREE Way to Adopt a Cat This June, The Benefits of Adopting A Shelter Cat and How You Can Help Homeless Animals Across the Country
June 16th, 2011 – According to the ASPCA, as many as 4 million cats and kittens enter animal shelters nationwide each year. Now, the ASPCA has found a better way to help cats move from shelters into loving homes: Give them away for free.
According to new research from the ASPCA, waiving the fees on adult cat adoptions are good for cats, cat owners and, surprisingly, the bottom line of animal shelters. Now, during June’s Adopt-a-Shelter-Cat Month television personality, Joy Behar, the ASPCA and the makers of Fresh Step litter are asking shelters nationwide to waive the fee they typically charge to adopt adult cats.
In soundbites available on this page, Joy Behar, cat-lover and host of HLN’s “The Joy Behar Show” and co-host of ABC’s “The View,” discusses:
- The benefits of adopting an adult shelter cat
- How waiving the adoption fee for adults cats helps you, the cat and the shelter
- How you can help out, even if you can’t adopt a cat now
