FITNESS MAGAZINE’S
SIXTH ANNUAL ‘BEST IN BEAUTY’ AWARDS

Experts Tested Their Way Through Hundreds of Products
To Bring You the Best in Beauty

October 3, 2011- They promise to lift, smooth, tame, tone and protect.  We buy beauty products by the bucket-full, making it a multi-billion dollar business.  But, how do you know which products actually deliver on their promises? Leave it to the experts!

FITNESS magazine has just announced the winners of their 6th Annual Beauty Awards to find the best of the best for their active, multitasking readers.

To pick the top 60 products that actually deliver on their promises, FITNESS experts narrowed down more than 1,100 nominated new beauty products to about 300 finalists. They distributed these picks to their team of reader testers, who scored each on factors like effectiveness, texture, scent, packaging and ease of use. This process whittled each category down to the first-place champions, which are showcased in the pages of their October issue. The best part, 22 of the products cost less than $10!

Eleanor Langston, Beauty Director of FITNESS magazine shares some of her favorites from their 6th Annual Beauty Awards Winners:

In the category of best sweat-proof sunscreen, we have Vichy Capital Soleil SPF 60 Soft Sheer Sunscreen Lotion. It provides broad-spectrum UVA/UVB protection with a potent antioxidant combination of White Grape Polyphenols and Vitamin E to help keep even delicate, sensitive skin looking healthy and youthful, all the way down to the cellular level. The soft, luxurious textures are easily spreadable on the face and body and isn’t greasy at all. It’s under $30 and available at drugstores nationwide.

Our top face lotion with SPF is L’Oréal Paris Youth Code SPF 30 Day Lotion. This product shields your skin against both UVA and UVB rays and also helps to prevent future signs of damage. It features GenActiv Technology, which is a powerful blend of Biolysat and Adenosine and a proprietary blend of peptides that enhances your skin’s ability to recover faster from aging free radical damage. It’s under $25 and available at drugstores nationwide.

For best blush, we chose, Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Blush from Physicians Formula. We love it because the soft pink color gives your cheeks a just-right glow and the smooth, velvet-y texture stays on all day. And the mood boosting scent of violet is an added bonus. Plus, it won’t clog your pores or irritate even those with sensitive skin. It’s available for under $12 at drugstores nationwide.

For best deodorant, we love Lady Speed Stick’s Fresh Infusions Antiperspirant/Deodorant, which our testers said that it kept them dry for 24 hours, even in 92-degree weather. The Fresh Infusions line is available in five luxurious scents, including the new Enchanted Cherry Blossom which has a light floral fragrance and provides all day odor and wetness protection. It’s under $3 and available at mass retail and grocery stores nationwide.
